Palaio Frourio is an old citadel, old Venetian fortress built on top of an islet, being surrounded with fortifications. Parts of its perimeter (eastern part) suffer erosion, being lost in the sea.
Given its location in the Ionian Sea, Corfu – which is the northernmost of all significant Ionian Island – makes possible trips to Albania (port of Saranda)
Some deem the Glyfada Beach one of the most popular in the western side of Corfu. Close to Pelekas, the beach has been awarded the blue flag
The Dassia Beach, still in the eastern side of Corfu, is a blue flagged pebbly stretch, being located a little northwards from Corfu Town, in the municipality of Feakon.
